Air and fuel are mixed and burned to generate heat, but only a portion of this heat is transferred to the heating system of industrial equipment, where it is used efficiently. The exhaust gases released into the atmosphere from combustion installations still contain a significant amount of heat, often much greater than the heat that was transferred efficiently in the process. In many heating systems based on fuel combustion, this heat loss is the largest, often surpassing all other heat losses combined.
To heat water using the recovered heat from flue gases, in our TERMOREK heat recovery systems, the heat transfer from the flue gases to the water is done through recuperator plates – an innovation developed by passionate Romanian engineers, specialists in Industrial Energy. The device has a relatively simple design, can be customized and built to suit local conditions, does not significantly affect the draft, and does not produce condensation. With a very low fouling factor by design and being easy to clean, it is ideal for use with solid or liquid fuels, where the flue gases may contain solid particles or soot, but with the same high efficiency, it also works well with gaseous fuels. Due to its design and the materials used, the device is very safe to operate, allowing the flue gases to pass through it even if there is no water. This makes it possible to significantly reduce the installation time in the flue gas circuit, as the connection to the hydraulic system and even the installation itself can be done later, without interrupting the production process.
